Please help us get the word out! We can’t let this pandemic upend our students’ future. We want as many students as possible to take advantage of this valuable opportunity. The UFT, in partnership with the DOE, has created a program to offer one hour of free college and career counseling to high school juniors and seniors.

Starting this Friday, students or their parents can call 212-331-6329 to speak with a UFT representative to make an appointment. Here’s what students need to know:

  • High school juniors and seniors are eligible for one hour of free, one-on-one college and career counseling to help develop their post-secondary plans.

  • Students will meet via video chat with UFT members who are experienced college and career counselors.

  • Appointments are available Monday through Friday, from 5 to 8 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • This counseling will include technical assistance with post-secondary applications and financial aid. High school seniors may also be connected with CUNY or SUNY case managers who can provide tutoring, academic help, and more planning support.
